Lorena Forés, a volunteer from the Volunteer Civil Protection Unit from Diputacion, has had the honor of being in charge of collecting the award that the Generalitat has awarded to the security, civil protection and emergency sector of the Comunitat Valenciana on the occasion of the distinctions of “9 d’octubre”.
The volunteer of this group of Diputación integrated into the Castellón Province Fire Department, is a young woman from L’Alcora who perfectly embodies the most supportive facet of the Civil Protection volunteer groups, and at the same time, the strong commitment by the society shared by all the emergency services of the Comunitat Valenciana.
With this award, the Generalitat Valenciana has wanted to highlight the important work that all groups in this sector carried out during the pandemic. It should be remembered that the Castellón Province Fire Department and the Volunteer Civil Protection Unit carried out a large number of tasks during the state of alarm, such as cleaning and disinfection of municipalities, the distribution of medicines , or the distribution of cleaning materials against the coronavirus. Once the state of alarm has ended, the Volunteer Civil Protection Unit has continued to collaborate with city councils in maintaining anti-Covid standards, such as controlling the capacity of public places or tourist spaces. Since the declaration of the initial state of alarm until October, they have performed more than 420 services.
